ConnectivHealth leadership team represents more than 70 years
of combined health care media, information and transaction experience.
The leadership team has collectively raised more than $100 million
for venture-backed health care endeavors. Leveraging the Internet
and other communication channels, the leadership team has successfully
built a number of leading health information businesses that
connect health care stakeholders and improves outcomes and efficiencies.
Scott McQuigg
Chief Executive Officer
ConnectivHealth
Scott McQuigg is the chief executive officer of ConnectivHealth.
McQuigg partnered with Louisville-Ky.-based Chrysalis Ventures
and Petra Capital Partners of Nashville, Tenn., in fall of 2005
to build a digital health media business. ConnectivHealth serves
as the holding company for VerusMed, HealthTeacher and Discovery
Hospital. McQuigg brings more than 20 years of health care information
and media experience to ConnectivHealth.
Prior to joining ConnectivHealth, McQuigg was co-founder and
CEO of Nashville-based HealthLeaders Inc, a leading health care
business media and information company. During his tenure, HealthLeaders
magazine won numerous industry awards for editorial and graphics
excellence, including Magazine of the Year from the American
Society of Business Publication Editors. Additionally, HealthLeaders’ research
was widely recognized by industry and media for its metropolitan
market analysis and health insurance data and analytics. During
his tenure at HealthLeaders, McQuigg created an annual Top Leadership
Teams recognition program to honor outstanding leadership teams
at America's hospitals and health plans. McQuigg also raised
venture and angel capital, and led the completion of four acquisitions
and the subsequent sale of the business to Decision Resources,
Waltham, Mass., in November 2004.
Prior to HealthLeaders, McQuigg gained experience with national
media through his 10 years of service with American City Business
Journals—the nation's largest publisher of local business
news—as president and publisher of the Nashville Business
Journal and as advertising director of the Tampa Bay Business
Journal. McQuigg lives in Nashville with his wife of 18 years,
Annie, and their two children.
Bob Kinard
Vice President & Chief
Financial Officer
ConnectivHealth
Bob Kinard is the vice president and chief financial officer
of ConnectivHealth, responsible for overseeing financial strategies,
corporate development, mergers and acquisitions.
Kinard’s professional background includes experience in
mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and health care
corporate finance transactions. Previously, he served as chief
corporate development officer with Passport Health Communications
Inc., a health care information technology services company in
Nashville. Before Passport, Kinard held the roles of director
of business development and director of financial operations
with PhyCor Inc., a national multi-specialty practice management
company also in Nashville. Earlier in his career, Kinard served
as a director in the health ventures practice of KPMG Peat Marwick
LLP, in Atlanta.
Kinard holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Florida State
University and a master's degree in business administration from
the University of Alabama. He also holds a CPA license.
Paul Mattioli
Vice President of Sales
ConnectivHealth
Paul Mattioli is the vice president of sales for ConnectivHealth,
leading the sales efforts for all ConnectivHealth brands, including
Discovery Hospital, HealthTeacher and VerusMed.
Most recently, Mattioli served as vice president of sales for Nashville
based HealthLeaders-InterStudy, the managed care and health plan
data company spin-off of HealthLeaders Inc., where he headed up
sales for both the health plan intelligence product division and
the media group whose products included HealthLeaders magazine
and HealthLeaders.com. Prior to that Mattioli served as director
of health care marketing and strategy for Atlanta-based Morrison
Management Specialists, where he completed multi-million dollar
sales and marketing programs targeting the hospital C-suite and
other key decision makers involved in outsourcing facility management
and employee/payroll management.
With more than 15 years of management experience in sales and marketing,
Mattioli’s career also includes advertising, syndicated data
and live event sponsorship sales for leading integrated media companies.
Prior to joining ConnectivHealth in 2006, Mattioli held sales and
marketing leadership roles at Dallas-based Epsilon Interactive,
Forbes.com, The Weather Channel's weather.com, and Ziff-Davis,
where he helped launch ComputerShopper.com, a groundbreaking direct-to-consumer
e-commerce engine.
Mattioli has been honored with many sales and marketing awards
and recognitions. He holds a BA in both English and Communications
from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., where he was a National
Scholar Athlete, graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors. Mattioli,
his wife and two daughters reside in Franklin, Tenn.
Steve NeSmith
Vice President of Interactive
ConnectivHealth
Steve NeSmith is the vice president of interactive for ConnectivHealth, leading the technology and product development efforts for all ConnectivHealth brands, including Discovery Hospital, HealthTeacher, Peerclip and VerusMed.
Most recently, NeSmith served as director of e-business for Nashville-based B&H Publishing, the tradebook publishing subsidiary of LifeWay, where he headed up new media marketing, e-commerce, and electronic product development. Prior to that, he served as director of new media for Florida-based Orlando Health, a nine-hospital not-for-profit health system, where he directed the system's internet business and marketing initiatives. NeSmith's career has also included healthcare public policy and managed care experience.
NeSmith earned his Masters in communication technology from Rollins College and his BS from Florida State University. NeSmith, his wife and two children reside in Franklin, Tenn.

Jack E. Angel
Director
Jack Angel is president of Greenwich Communications (GCL), based
in Greenwich, Conn., a health care communications and consulting
firm. Prior to founding GCL, Angel served as executive vice president
for Medical Economics Company, based in Montvale, N.J., a leading
medical publisher. In addition, he served as president for Patient
Care Communications, Inc., based in Darien, Conn., a health care
information and education company dedicated to physicians and
physician networks; president of International Thomson Technology
Information Inc.; and publisher of Physicians Desk Reference
(PDR) and Drug Topics.
Angel currently serves as a board director for Wicks Medical
Information in New York, N.Y. and Global Edge Inc., in New York,
N.Y.
Angel is active in several industry organizations and is currently
the executive director of the Coalition for Healthcare Communications
Education Foundation, based in New York, N.Y., a nonprofit educational
foundation that conducts research on the quality and value of
health care marketing communications. Additionally, Angel was
one of the original members of the Working Group on Communication
of Ethical Guidelines for Gifts to Physicians from Industry,
and served as president of the Association of Medical Publications
and the Pharmaceutical Advertising Council.
Angel holds a master’s degree in business administration
from New York University in Manhattan, N.Y., and an M.E. degree
from State University of New York in New York, N.Y.
Koleman E. Karleski
Director
Koleman Karleski joined Louisville-Ky.-based Chrysalis Ventures
in 1997 and is currently a managing director. His focus is on
health care services and technology, and business services. At
Chrysalis, Karleski has worked with Aperture Credentialing (sold
to a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group), Manorhouse Assisted Living
(sold to LifeTrust Assisted Living), Primis (sold to LandAmerica
Financial Group) and TechRepublic (sold to Gartner Group, Inc.).
He currently serves on the Board of AfterBOT, Chronicity,
HealthMedia and MedServe. Karleski also spearheads Chrysalis’ marketing
and fundraising efforts.
Prior to Chrysalis, Karleski worked for Providian Corporation's
Capital Management business unit, where he focused on strategic
planning and business development. A native of Pittsburgh, Karleski
earned a BSE from Princeton University, where he concentrated
on operations research and financial engineering. In his civic
capacity, Karleski volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Kentuckiana and is president of the Princeton Alumni Association
of Louisville.

Robert A. Smith
Director
Robert Smith is a partner at Petra Capital Partners, a Nashville, TN based private equity firm that invests in the healthcare, business and information services industries. Since joining Petra in 1996, Smith has participated in the sourcing, execution and management of 35 investments totaling more than $100 million. Prior to joining Petra, Smith was an investment banker at Equitable Securities Corp., where he participated in numerous private and public company capital raising and advisory assignments predominately in the health care services industry. He earned his MBA at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and earned his BS in commerce at the University of Virginia. In addition to serving on the Board of ConnectivHealth, Smith currently serves on the board of directors for Petra portfolio companies T2 Systems in Indianapolis, IN and Mycroft in St. Louis, MO.
